For everyone with one of the "Sleep Number" beds, sorry it is a bit too late now, but for those that are considering buying one here is a site for you-
Sleep Number Beds Complaint forum.
Of Course if you own one you can always stop in and leave your comment as well or simply feel better knowing you are not the only one. Owners know the issues, new buyers are ignorant of potential issues and are often sold on the product and the "warranty" that is often more difficult and costly to exercise than anyone ever imagined.
One of the most common complaints about this mattress is the fact that it can develop a "ditch" or "trench" when both sides are raised to the firmest settings or sometimes just do regardless of the settings. Imagine owning a mattress that will always have a rut down the middle where you tend to roll into it and lose that "Sleep Number" effect. In fact you will become fond of the phrases like "dang my back hurts" or "I am so tired this morning".
If you are married or sleep with someone else- get used to gravitating towards your 2ft wide mattress because you will not cuddle anymore. There is no comfort found in the middle of your bed. If you have a dog that sleeps on your bed they will throw your "Sleep Number" off as well.
There are many owners out there that have found Sleep Number Beds to be a poor substitute for a high quality bed. They are honestly the most expensive air mattress you will ever own. I know you often hear how certain products "suck" and I can assure you in my opinion and from my experience Sleep Number beds suck most certainly. No axe to grind, no mean spirited intent at all. I just wish someone had told me how poor they were before I considered buying one.
